Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

So Trungpa turned Buddhism into Pure Pornography. What do we think about that? I feel gurglings of anger bubbling up inside me. He was obviously inspired by Aleister Crowley . As soon as he got out of Tibet, he was surrounded by his cadre. When I first read Rexroth's introduction to the "Great Narop...

Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

Just think about it: By not having babies, you get rid of birth, old age, suffering and death in "no-longer future" generations. Isn't that compassion? That's a way better choice than voting for Trump!

Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

Humans are not animals; we are not frogs mindlessly copulating. Humans have minds; we have compassion and love, and the ability to think things out. That makes all the difference in the world. I totally object to anyone comparing us humans with animals. That's usually done by people who don't want u...

Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

This passage has just been bothering me ever since I read it. Why in the world would you have groveling respect for a man like this? What is wrong with John Riley Perks? We were in Boston, where Rinpoche had finished a teaching weekend on Tilopa. Our plane to Denver was leaving at 10:20 a.m. I was f...

Re: The Myth of Enlightenment

The myth of enlightenment is one of the most diabolical creations ever. What better way is there to mentally enslave people than that? Under the cover of “desirelessness”, people’s desire to find meaning in a life where there is no meaning, is magnetized, a situation so dire and existential, that an...

Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

The Karmapa strongly disapproved of Trungpa's marriage to Diana, and essentially wrote him off as a legitimate lama when he did that. Did Karmapa have a wife? No! As Diana says, "He was very strict about his monastic vows." His Holiness was very strict about his monastic vows ... While His Holiness ...

Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

I totally get it now! Tibetans are a primitive, wild, superstitious, crazy people who have deluded themselves into THINKING that they are Buddhists, so they can imagine that they have separated from their primitive past and are now modern people! Well, maybe "Buddhists" compared with these people, b...

Re: The Way I See Trungpa Now

More proof that Trungpa was not enlightened is that he didn't know how to have a good party. Here, I am using an actual dream party as an example. I'm sure we all have dreams of being at wonderful parties, and I think dreams provide the best example of what a "pure" party is, and can be. I think tha...

Re: Petition Launched / Dharma Teachers: Retract Your Homages to Sogyal

It's important to say "no" to abuse. This is not just about what Sogyal did to his students, but about what any of these Tibetan lamas would be allowed to do to any one of us. Shall we go back to the old days of patriarchy, where dad can beat up his wife and kids all he wants, rape his daughters, an...
