An Open Letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Secretary Rubio,

You’ve been strutting around Capitol Hill for years pretending to be a hard-nosed defender of American interests, waving the flag, shouting about toughness. And yet when Israel drags the United States into one of the most classically treacherous maneuvers in the long, dirty annals of diplomacy-as-ambush, you fold like a cheap suit. Worse — you cheer it on.

The United States Setup the Negotiating Table that Israel Turned to Ground Zero for a Treacherous Attack

Here are the facts even a schoolkid can grasp:

- Hamas leaders were in Doha because the United States encouraged the talks and backed the ceasefire proposal on the table.
- Doha was chosen precisely because it had been safe for years, at Washington’s request, as the venue where the “bad guys” could be talked to without air raids.
- Israel turned that safe ground into a "killing ground," dropping ordnance on men at a peace council. That’s treachery, plain and simple — the kind of story elders tell their children to warn them never to trust the smiling enemy.

And you — instead of defending U.S. credibility — parrot Israeli talking points like a wind-up toy. You seem blind to the cost:

- Every party who sits at a table convened by the United States now knows that "our guarantees mean nothing."
- Every mediator who tries to broker peace under our auspices will be met with suspicion, if not outright contempt.
- Every American diplomat abroad will carry the shadow of Doha, because Washington proved incapable — or unwilling — to prevent its closest ally from turning our peace table into an execution chamber.

The Egg on Your Face Goes With Your Brown Nose

You look a fool because you act as if this doesn’t matter. As if U.S. standing in the world isn’t worth more than your next round of applause at an AIPAC dinner. You cheapen American credibility with every shrug.

And your party leader? Donald Trump promised Americans he was no one’s stooge. Yet when Benjamin Netanyahu turns Washington into his errand boy — dangling ceasefire talks with one hand and feeding targeting intel to Tel Aviv with the other — Trump swallows it whole. That’s not strength, Secretary. That’s "servility." That’s the picture of a man reduced to playing the cuckold for Bibi on the world stage.

You and your colleagues may think this is clever realpolitik. It isn’t. It’s a slow-motion demolition of America’s moral authority. It’s the kind of back-alley trick that makes ordinary people everywhere conclude that "U.S. mediation is a sucker’s game." And you’re grinning as it happens.

The Old Testament Records Similar Crimes by and Against the Jews

History won’t remember the procedural excuses or the legal footnotes. Israelis should remember Doha the way they remembers the fate of Jonathan Maccabee, lured to Ptolemais with promises of peace and slain with his men, and the similarly treacherous end dealt to Abner of Hebron, struck down after negotiating a covenant. These Hebrew stories endure because they capture the same lesson: a peace talk turned to treachery is a wound that never heals. That the Hebrews have previously stooped to the same strategy is conveniently forgotten in the minds of modern Jews, but in the Book of Genesis we find the story of Dinah and Shechem (Genesis 34). After Shechem, Prince of the Hivites, has sex with Dinah, the daughter of Jacob and Leah, down by the river, Shechem proposes marriage. Jacob’s sons agree to intermarry with Shchem's tribe on condition that every man in Shechem’s city be circumcised. When the men complied and were incapacitated, Simeon and Levi fell upon them and slaughtered the entire male population. Josephus himself called out the stratagem as dishonorable, and Jacob condemned it bitterly, saying it exposed his household to shame and hatred. Rabbinic commentators, too, wrestled with this act, often conceding that whatever outrage Shechem had committed, the method of vengeance—"to betray in the guise of negotiation"—was itself a stain. Christian interpreters likewise pointed to the deceit as evidence of what godly people must avoid. This story survives in Jewish and Christian memory as a cautionary tale: treachery in the cloak of peace corrodes the moral fabric of a people and marks them with infamy.

In Conclusion

Stop preening, Marco. Look in the mirror. You’ve traded away U.S. honor for a handful of talking points. The world knows it. If you want to fix it, you'll admit it, and pick up that phone and tell your boss to call Bibi and tell him to cut the shit and fucking not kill the goddamn peace negotiators at the fucking peace table.

For the whole conversation in which I argue the struggling machine into a semblance of ethical analysis, you can read it here at this link.

If you ask, how do you bitch-slap ChatGPT? Allow me to share:
[Charles]I think you are weighting the test wrongly. When the consequences are death, mincing words like this is highly inappropriate. Allow me to tutor you in non-machine ethics. Fraudulent intentions often legally inferred from the consequences to the person who was fraudulently induced. In this case, they're dead. Damages are not going to fix it. So don't try and sell that soft-serve horse shit to me.
