Words of Warning Across the Ages“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.” — Hosea 8:7
• Winston Churchill: “Those who kindle the flames of strife will be consumed by them.”
• Abraham Lincoln: “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, cannot long retain it.” (1859)
• Sigmund Freud: “The aggressive instinct is a dangerous servant, but a terrible master.”
• Hannah Arendt: “The practice of violence, like all action, changes the world, but the most probable change is to a more violent world.”
• Marshall McLuhan: “We become what we behold. We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us.”
Together these voices echo Hosea’s maxim: those who deal in violence and hatred will find their lives entangled, and often ended, by the very forces they set in motion.
Five Tales of Hatred Consuming Hatemongers
Thomas Müntzer (1489–1525): Apocalyptic Fire Meets Cannon Fire
Müntzer preached violent purgation during the German Peasants’ War; princes answered with annihilating force. He was captured after Frankenhausen and executed—his revolution devouring its own prophet.

Girolamo Savonarola (1452–1498): Bonfires Turn Back on the Firebrand
Savonarola’s moral-panics and “bonfire of the vanities” destabilized Florence; when power recoiled, he was hanged and burned in the same piazza.

Jean-Paul Marat (1743–1793): The Polemicist as Martyr to His Own Logic
Marat’s incendiary denunciations helped license Terror; a royalist sympathizer, Charlotte Corday, stabbed him in his bath.

Corneliu Zelea Codreanu (1899–1938): Paramilitary Hate Meets State Reprisal
The Iron Guard leader cultivated street terror; the monarchy replied with extrajudicial execution. He was strangled by police and buried in secret.

George Lincoln Rockwell (1918–1967): A Movement Eats Its Own
The American Nazi Party chief built a brand on provocation; he was assassinated by a disgruntled ex-member—paranoia and hostility consuming their author.

Charlie Kirk: The Trump Sycophant Who Preached Cruelty and Profited from Hate
There's no better place to start with Kirk than watching his sycophantic RNC speech, wherein he laved Trump's hindquarters with diligence, presenting him as a "billionaire who put his life of luxury on the line," the "bodyguard of Western Civilization," here to protect us from "the vengeful mob." Yes, that's Charlie, conjuring phantom foes as neatly as the Master Conjurer himself. Lies flow from his lips smoothly, just like you'd expect from an orator whose career would not have existed but for the anomaly of Trumps' ascent to power, and the existence of a right wing propaganda network that amplifies such voices. Surely he was not referring to Trump's trips to Epstein Island when he talked about him "putting his life of luxury on the line," but Kirk's death will now be used by his own propaganda-spouting peers to cover up the Epstein scandal, while remembering Kirk as what he never was -- a good man. That he was not. Nevertheless, the story of how his "innocent blood" was spilled by trans violence will wash away the sins of Trump, or so those now calling for measures to disarm trans people and deport leftists are fervently hoping.
[Charlie Kirk] For decades, ruling class leaders in both parties sold out our future to China, to faceless corporations, and to self-serving lobbyists. They did it to preserve their own power and enrich themselves, all while rigging the system to hold down the good, decent Middle-Class patriots striving to build a family and pursue a decent life.
All of this changed dramatically in 2015 when a billionaire named Donald Trump put his own life of luxury on the line to build a movement to save our country. From the moment he came down that famous escalator, he started a movement to reclaim our government from the rotten cartel of insiders that have been destroying our country.
We may not have realized it at the time, but Trump is the bodyguard of Western Civilization. Trump was elected to protect our families from the vengeful mob that seeks to destroy our way of life, our neighborhoods, schools, churches.
Kirk pulled himself to public recognition by climbing over a pile of bodies. His brazen remarks are of course the type of cold-hearted nonsense that ring with irony now. Here's what he said about the Parkland school shooting in 2018:
Kirk argued that white lynchings of black people in the South were reasonable payback for black against white violence (an invention of his fevered mind).
- “I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.”
- “No matter how much the left goes after guns, I will never give up my rights… even if the Second Amendment costs some lives every single year.”
-- April 2023, TPUSA Faith, Salt Lake City- “We have a culture problem in this country that has stemmed from failing public schools and bad government programs.”
-- Said on Fox News in the immediate aftermath of the Parkland shooting, arguing against tighter gun laws. (Yahoo News UK)- “The FBI has two tips and did nothing against the Parkland shooter. They failed us. These marches are not about common sense gun laws.”
Posted on X/Twitter while student-led March for Our Lives protests were underway. (X (formerly Twitter))- “Facts: Gun control wouldn’t have stopped the shooting in Parkland…”
-- Part of a 2019 post asserting gun control wouldn’t have prevented several mass shootings. (X (formerly Twitter))
Kirk preached that gay people should be stoned to death as per Jewish law.In the 1920s and 30s there were prowling Blacks who were attacking some of the white towns, and there were white racists who would go lynch people.
Kirk -- who would have had a hell of a career as a witch prosecutor -- was skilled in demonizing people for thoughts they never had, intentions they never formed, acts they never committed or contemplated. Seen through the screen of his aggressive-victim psychology, DEI is an arch-evil, Planned Parenthood is a murder cult, doctors providing gender affirming care are projected as Mengelian monsters who should be tried for crimes against humanity, and liberals, like Satan himself, "can't conceive," and have to steal God's children by "grooming" them. These ideas were extraordinarily poisonous and monstrously stupid, therefore fabulously appealing to the MAGA mass. However, read from the viewpoint of one of the many people threatened by his conjurations, the assassination might be seen as an act of proactive defense. And what's more American than a "preemptive strike?"In June 2024, while attacking children’s educator Ms. Rachel’s Pride message, Kirk cited Leviticus 20:13 — the verse prescribing death by stoning for men who lie with men — and called it “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”

Kirk was a big fan of the precocious gunman Kyle Rittenhouse, holding him forth as some type of "Biblical hero of the American right." Portraying a trigger-happy adolescent as a Christian hero, a martyr of the liberal legal system, was the type of poison Kirk was good at concocting. His transformation of the utterly unnecessary taking of human life by a fool into a religious act was the sort of too-clever-by-half bullshit that has a way of rebounding on the speaker.
- "This is the Democrats' depopulation agenda... Sick. Cruel. Evil. Pure Evil."
-- X (post about Planned Parenthood)- "Conservatives should welcome this fight. Nothing better represents how evil DEI is..."
-- X (post about DEI)- "...the left has learned to exploit [compassion] to create something evil."
-- CharlieKirk.com (show page summary)- "Maybe the media and Democrats should stop telling their audiences that Trump is a Nazi... Good vs Evil."
-- X (Good vs Evil post)- "We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. These doctors need to be put in prison quickly."
-- Media Matters (Apr 1, 2024)- "We must ban trans-affirming care — the entire country. Donald Trump needs to run on this issue."
-- Media Matters (Apr 1, 2024)- "Fauci should be LOCKED UP!"
-- Facebook video- "Taking Fauci seriously at this point is beyond a mistake."
-- Fox News @ Night (Apr 16, 2021)- "Groomers can't reproduce, so instead they recruit. They go serve on school boards. Do Christians run for school boards as much as the LGBT community does? No."
-- Media Matters (Mar 3, 2023)- "You are grooming children to be something they shouldn't be, and I'm not going to put up..."
-- Facebook video- "We need to use financial 'force' and 'pain' against Target over Pride merchandise."
-- Mediaite (May 25, 2023)
When Kirk's sponsorship of Rittenhouse for American Sainthood turned a few stomachs, preventing him from continuing his bandwagoneering for the young killer, Kirk applied Trump's method of rallying support with Red State legislators to push for political pressure against those who wanted to "deplatform" him and his beloved Kyle.
- "We brought Kyle Rittenhouse to the front stage, that's a win. It's a win for due process, it's a win for presumption of innocence—all Biblical values, by the way."
-- Newsweek (Dec 22, 2021) (Newsweek)- "It's not only he didn't do anything wrong, he did everything right... And we must say that, he did everything right that night, is that Kyle acted properly and morally and lawfully when someone tried to kill him."
-- Newsweek (Dec 22, 2021) (Newsweek)- "Kyle did the right thing, and he should be applauded for it."
-- Newsweek (Dec 22, 2021) (Newsweek)- "You're a hero to millions, it's an honor to be able to have you."
-- Newsweek (Dec 21, 2021) (Newsweek)- "Kyle is clearly innocent. But this trial is about more than just Kyle. It's about the rule of law, it's about the Constitution, the 2nd Amendment, and the right to defend yourself when a violent mob is attacking you. It's about whether an American citizen will be afforded an impartial jury of their peers that won't cow to threats of riots if they acquit an innocent man."
-- Newsweek (Nov 29, 2021) (Newsweek)- "I'm pleased to hear now that Kyle's a hero of the American right. I'm gonna participate in that, in platforming him, and I think he should be a hero of the American right."
-- Newsweek (Nov 29, 2021) (Newsweek)
Kirk died on September 10, 2025, shot dead during a Utah Valley University event in a technically faultless execution that suggests the work of a professional assassin / military trained sniper.
- "I will be asking TN lawmakers to investigate if the University of Memphis colluded with local protesters to sabotage last night's TPUSA event with Kyle Rittenhouse. We may also file our own lawsuit on viewpoint discrimination. Stay tuned!"
-- Newsweek (Mar 22, 2024) (Newsweek)- "We very well might file a lawsuit... Taxpayer funded universities, especially state universities, are not allowed to say, 'You know, we really don't like Kyle Rittenhouse. We don't like Turning Point.'"

Of course, those who genuflect to convention first, last and always are rushing to remember Kirk as if humanity had lost a valuable representative, when in fact his departure merely frees up more oxygen for the rest of us. Oh, sorry, so much reading about Kirk is pushing me to emulate his heartless phrases. Forgive my excess, and let me close my commentary on him by quoting an Instagram poster who expressed my view pretty well:
I do feel genuine sympathy for his family. But I won’t join the chorus of voices (especially news anchors on every news channel, including CNN ) pretending he was a kind or decent man. Like our president, he worked against empathy. He even claimed this country was “too empathetic.” By his own logic, he would not want us to extend empathy toward him now. He felt strongly that it was OK for people to die every year to protect his second amendment. He loved to point out a Bible verse that said gay people should be killed. He also raised money to help the Pelosi attackers legal case. Democrats will not be raising money to defend his shooter. His last words were very telling.

The Ninth Gate:The Sorcerer Assassinates Himself
Sometimes a fictional portrayal is more memorable than reality. In The Ninth Gate, a millionaire obsessed with gaining magical powers believes he has identified the magical ceremony that will make him immortal. He puts the spell to a test—soaking himself in fuel and setting himself ablaze. After a few seconds spent reveling in his illusory invulnerability, he realizes he's burning to death. That’s the parable: you do not use destructive forces; they use you.
